Window Tinting FAQs

Can I roll down my car windows after you apply the tint?

Yes, after a few days when the tint is dry, you will still be able to roll your windows up and down as before.

How long will you need my car?

The time to install window tinting on your car depends on the size of your vehicle and the service you request. We will let you know when making your appointment what the typical time is for your service.

Are you insured to handle my car?

Yes, we are insured to work on and drive ANY vehicle. However, we never drive customers’ cars other than to pull them into our workshop.

Will you drive my car?

The only reason we might have to drive your car is to bring it into our workshop. We do not drive it for any other purpose.

Can I observe the window tinting being installed?

Observing window tinting is distracting for our installers who need to e 100% focused on their work. And for insurance reasons, you can not anyone in our workshop who is not an employee.

Is window tinting legal?

Texas allows vehicle windows to have a tint, but the amount depends on the window. The state does not permit any shade on the front windshield below the AS-1 line (or the top five inches), and tinting on the front side windows must let 25 percent or more of light in. What are the advantages of window tinting?

There is a range of advantages beyond cosmetics. You can find other significant benefits here. (link)

My car has a factory-fitted tinted glass. Can you make it darker?

Yes. Often factory privacy glass is light depending on the manufacturer. We can install a tint over the original to make it darker.

Do I need any protection for my tinted windows to help them last?

The tint we use is very durable, which obtains layers of protection from scratches. We do ask, though, that you wait to clean the inside of the windows at least 30 days to allow the glue to cure.

Is window tint film visible?

No. We tint it to the very edge of the glass, so it appears like factory-tinted glass. Our methods also do not leave a micro gap at the top of the glass like most tint shops.

Will I be able to use my windows as usual?

We ask that you don’t roll the windows down for four days after having the tint applied. After that period, everything is back to normal.

Is the tint applied to the inside or outside?

We apply the tint to the inside of the glass, which means you can still wash the car as you usually would.

How long does the tint last?

Our window tinting lasts for a lifetime.

My car was tinted before. Can it be removed?

Yes, we can remove old or poorly fitted window tinting.

My building is several stories high. Is that an issue?

Because we apply window tinting to the INSIDE of the window, there’s no need for expensive scaffolding and safety equipment.

Can I wash my car after tinting?

Because we apply the tint to the inside of windows, you can do whatever you want to the outside of your vehicle.

How dark can you make the tint?

To pass the annual vehicle inspection in Texas, The Texas Department of Public Safety (link: https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/vi/consumerinfo/windowTint.htm) states that the front door windows tint must allow 25% of visible light to pass through, and cannot reflect over 25% of sunlight. However, there are no rules for the rear side windows. And if your vehicle has outside mirrors, the law states: “there are no restrictions regarding the sun screening devices applied to the rear window.”

What colors can I tint my windows?

Texas does not allow red, blue, or amber tint colors. (link: https://codes.findlaw.com/tx/transportation-code/transp-sect-547-613.html).

Can I tint my windshield?

The Texas Department of Public Safety allows us to apply transparent untinted film to the windshield glass as long as it is not visible when viewed in daylight. However, Texas allows you a visor strip at the top of the front windshield as long as it doesn’t fall below the AS-1 line indicated on the windshield or only five inches from the top of the windshield.

My car came with tinted windows from the manufacturer. Why should I get them tinted again?

The main reason you want to have additional tint added to your vehicle is that manufacturer glass does not protect you from harmful Ultraviolet radiation (link: https://www.who.int/uv/en). Another important reason is for your comfort. Without tinted windows, you will need more air-conditioning to cool, which adds to your fuel cost.

Can I have my van tinted?

Yes. And your RV, boat, office building, and home.

Do I have to come to you, or will you come to me?

When you make your appointment by calling (956) 374-2950, you have a choice to bring your car to us, or we can come to you. We always go to you for RV, boat, residential, and commercial installations.

I have heard that the tinting can peel after a time and looks “tacky.” Will this happen?

No. Our tested tinting material endures the most demanding environments, especially in South Texas!. And our installers undergo extensive training on the correct application process to ensure a professional service. You have no worries about bubbling, peeling, and fading.

Are there any other benefits for tinted glass?

There are three main extra benefits: (1). It protects you from flying glass in the event of a side-impact accident. (2) The film makes it harder for thieves to break your windows. (3) Because our window tinting rejects 99.9% UV rays and reflects solar energy, you will enjoy a more comfortable environment year-round.

How do I clean my tinted windows in my commercial building or home?

It is easy to clean tinted windows. Just use any typical window cleaning product. Important: Do not use any brushes or abrasive cleaners on the glass, which will harm the surface.

How will my building look with window tinting?

The building will have an attractive, uniform appearance that resembles expensive treated glass.

Will the window tint of my building compromise my employees’ view?

No. Your employees’ view will be the same because we use neutral window films.
